The UK unemployment rate fell to a seven-year low of 5.3% in the three months to September, new figures show.
In Mitcham and Morden the unemployment rate has fallen by over 18% in one year to 2.6% in October 2015. Youth unemployment fell by over 30% and long-term unemployment (JSA claimants for over 1 year) fell by almost 25%.
In Wimbledon the unemployment rate has fallen by over 15% in one year to 1.1% in October 2015. Youth unemployment fell by over 23% and long-term unemployment (JSA claimants for over 1 year) fell by almost 6%.
It was the lowest jobless rate since the second quarter of 2008, The Office of National Statistics said
The number of people out of work fell by 103,000 between July and September to 1.75 million.
There were 31.21 million people in work, 177,000 more than for the April-to-June quarter and 419,000 more than in the same period a year earlier.
UK manufacturing output rose by 0.8% in September, according to official figures, the biggest monthly increase since April 2014.
Despite the increase, manufacturing output was still down 0.6% from the same month last year.
The wider measure of industrial production fell 0.2% in September, but was 1.1% higher than a year earlier.
Other figures from the ONS indicated the goods trade deficit narrowed to £9.35bn in September. The deficit - showing that the UK imported more goods than it exported - was down from a gap of £10.79bn in August. The deficit in goods and services narrowed to £1.4bn in September from £2.9bn the previous month.
