After years of pressure from Conservative Cannon Hill councillors the tennis courts in Morden Park are finally being refurbished. Local Conservative councillors Nick McLean and Michael Paterson have led the fight to have our local tennis courts refurbished and now work has finally begun. The courts had been neglected for over a decade by Labour and left in poor condition. Once the refurbishment is completed the courts can again be used by members of the public.
Commenting on the refurbishment, Cllr Michael Paterson said, “this is fantastic news for Cannon Hill and the wider community in Merton. After years of neglect from Labour the refurbishment is finally under way. I look forward to the tennis courts once again being a much-used community asset in Cannon Hill.”
We now look forward to the implementation of the Conservative proposal to build pickleball courts and the refurbishment of the cricket nets. We envisage a centre of sporting excellence in Morden Park for the benefit of all residents and will continue to press the administration for the full implementation of these exciting plans.
